The Department of Biotechnology was established in June 2002.We have a University affiliated course in Vocational Biotechnology.Students study 2 Theory paper and 1 Practical paper of Biotechnology. In the T.Y.B.Sc. the students study Vocational Biotechnology and a Principal subject. (Microbiology/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/Environmental Science)
There are three Teaching staff and one Non- teaching staff in the department. Ms. Deepa J. Shetty is the Head of the department.This year we admitted 45 students in F.Y. B.Sc.The total students’ strength in this academic year is 79.The department has a well equipped Laboratory and departmental Library.
