Departmental Competitions

            A Seminar Competition was organized on topics related to Environmental Biotechnology for TYBSc students in August 2011. Ms. Alfiya Tamboli won the first prize for the topic “Biogas”.

                 The Department had organized a Poster Competition for FYBSc students on 14^th Sept 2011.Mr. Abdul Samad, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Human Physiology &Biochemistry, M.A. Rangoonwala Dental College, Pune and Mrs. Vaishali Prabhune,Lecturer, Dept. of Microbiology, AISC, Pune were the judges for the competition.There were total 19 posters exhibited.Ms. Taranum Khan and Ms. Bazila Shaikh won the 1^st prize for the poster entitled ‘Biosensors’.

 The Department had organized an Essay Writing Competition on 12^th Jan 2012 for FYBSc students. The topics given were Bioinformatics and Nanobiotechnology.Ms. Pooja Pardeshi and Ms. Uzma Sultan won the 1^st Prize for the same.

 An Oral Presentation Competition was organized for SYBSc students on the topics related to Animal Tissue Culture on 16^th Jan 2012. Ms. Heena Kacchi won the 1^st prize for the topic “Cryopreservation”

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION OF DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

            The Department of Biotechnology had organized a prize distribution programme on 22^nd March 2012 in the Assembly hall of our college. The winners of the Deparmental Competitions (Essay writing,Seminar, Oral Presentation,Poster Competitions) were given medals and certificates. The toppers of the academic year 2010-11 were also given prizes. Ms. Nazneen Irani, teacher,Vincent’s High School gave away the prizes for games and cultural programmes.

Science Exhibition

This year science exhibition was arranged on 27^th Jan 2012. F.Y., S.Y. & T.Y. B. Sc students participated in science exhibition. They exhibited different models and posters. The models were made on the topics ‘Biotech Town’ and ‘DNA replication’. The posters were made on the topics ‘Bioinformatics’ and ‘Nanobiotechnology’. The model entitled “Biotech Town” won the First Prize.
